Xpress Gas aims to halve the statistics of over 90% of households dependent on traditional forms of energy for cooking through its LPGas for all campaign.
The big, hairy audacious idea is to incubate, nurture and mentor locally viable sustainable small businesses to stimulate grass markets and deliver LPGas as a cleaner, efficient, reliable and affordable cooking fuel to under-served, and marginalized remote communities in Ghana. Ninety-nine percent (99%) of Peri-urban and rural communities in Ghana are dependent solely on wood-fuels, animal dung and crop residues to meet their cooking needs.
Xpress Gas aims to radically change the traditional business-as-usual approach of delivering LPGas to high income households in urban communities. Xpress Gas will energize the remote communities by making LPGas and its myriad applications accessible and affordable to rural and remotely located households and institutions.
In August 2010, Xpress Gas Launched the LPGas for all campaign (G4A). The five year goal of Xpress Gas is to deliver LPGas to 1 million end-users and consequently improve their quality of life and lower associated health risks.
